TRIPLE THREAT BASED IN NAARM
Madison Kate (any pronouns) is an upcoming Australian actor and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. A triple threat, she has performed in a wide range of short films, web series, and stage productions, including work in Shakespeare and musical theatre. Kate has a Bachelor of Creative Arts from ACU and also trained at NIDA, StageSchool Australia & TAFTA. Kate names her biggest influence as Tom Hiddleston.
When it comes to writing, Kate minored in Creative Writing at ACU, has been published twice in the university’s National Arts Publication, and was awarded the Spirit of the ANZAC Prize for an original short story written during her high school studies. Her background in bookselling and library services has further deepened her knowledge of literature and strengthened her understanding of the publishing landscape. Her other minor in Media Studies, equipped her to write for stage and screen as well as perform it.
Driven by her maladaptive daydreaming, hyper-fixations and a genuine love for storytelling, she is committed to her craft and hopes to make art forever.

poem: "it gets better, but what if I don't?"
SAMPLE:
yellow walls painted white
the hand-me-down retired
yet, stubborn as ever, the glow-in-the-dark starlight
growing up as required
I met my childhood architect
who signed the following text
"may your life be filled with experiences
so wonderful and glorious
you'll always have something to write about"
so, please enlighten me,
what exactly am I doing wrong?
poem: she too
your coming-of-age IG photo dump
illuminated me to the fact
all your photos of her are gone.
just as you did to me two years ago.
she
now a footnote of your bio.
a relationship you were so proud to put on show
posts archived, like it had never been.
me and your supervene.
i wonder, about you
do you ever feel guilty for leaving me black and blue?
or were you in bliss with your new beau?
did you ever get déjà vu?
the dates, the tiktoks, the jewellery, did you do that with her too?
or were you ignorant to my bitterblue?
of course, i
could never ask you this.
our amicable divorce now dextrose
like your braids when we waltzed
the assaults of your faults
a trojan horse of our awkward encounters,
in the times i've seen you since.
you found someone new, you lost someone new.
we knew we were wrong for each other
that's why you found and lost your another.
you now know my desolation
yet your knife still rests between my shoulder blades.
